Ring lights were a huge hit when they first came out…and they’re still a hot item. Having a ring light is convenient for small spaces, portable, especially if they come with a carrying case like this one, and they let off a lot of light.
If you’d like to see my unboxing, I have a YouTube video for that. Please check it out and leave your thoughts.
Seems that this exact Mount Dog 16 inch ring light model is out of stock – as of June 27th, 2020. When I bought mine, the price was $60.99

Why I Decided to Invest in a Ring Light
I have 2 soft box lights, but my husband also creates videos @RealBasketballStories, so he uses those and I wasn’t about to take them up and down the stairs every time I wanted to use them. I decided to get a ring light because my recording space is cute and I can fold up the legs of the stand and hide it when it’s not in use. It’s also not a hassle when it’s time to set up and use.
I went with this particular light because of the stand and it didn’t come with the race car track pieces you have to clip on to the front of the ring light. The stand was really sleek, updated and the rubber covers won’t allow the legs to scratch up my floors.
About the Mount Dog Ring Light
•The light is 16 inches in its outer circumference.
•There is a twist knob for brightness and one for color temperature, then there is a switch for the power.
•No white or orange clip on pieces for the front of the light… the color temperature is changed with a knob on the back.
•There is a little notch cut out for you to hang the ring light on your wall if that’s what you decide to do. I feel like this was a great touch, because some people may have a space that is so tight that even though the stand isn’t big, they just don’t have the room for it.
•Lightweight
•The stand is very easy to use, sleek, folds up very compact.
•Comes with a power cord… not the one that has the big box attached.
TIP: If the brightness is turned all the way down and after you plug the light up and turn it on, you may think that your light doesn’t work… just turn the brightness up. Initially, I thought mine was broken, because the brightness was turned all the way to the lowest setting, which is off ( but it’s still powered on).
Can you use a ring light if you wear glasses?
Yes! I wear glasses EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. My tip for this is to put the light up high and then tilt it down. If you move your head around a lot, you may get a glimpse of the ring lights reflection in your glasses, but to me, that’s not too big of a deal.
Their customer service contact info is Support@MountDog.net – I’m pretty sure I emailed them before purchasing to inquire about the warranty and I don’t think I ever got a response.
