Lets just start by saying Dr. Saba Javaid was GREAT! Absolutely great. Just in case that’s all you read.
Initially, I was on the hunt for a black doctor in all honesty, but the day of my appointment, I looked at the MyChart email they sent and it had a different doctors name. I booked 3 weeks prior to my appointment and requested a certain doctor, but that is not who they put in the system for us to see…oh well. As I do with businesses and doctors, I Googled her…no reviews, no picture, really nothing but where she worked, but I wanted to keep the appointment that I had, so we went with it. We ended up being very happy that the front desk mixed up the doctors for our appointment.
From the moment she walked in she was super sweet. She explained everything thoroughly and we were NOT rushed and didn’t feel rushed.
Thoughts from my husband:
“She was nice, professional, knowledgeable , helpful. Honestly, every good thing you could think or want in a doctor, she was that. She was considerate – she considered the kids feelings …NOT just thinking or saying, “oh, I’m a doctor, so I can do what I want.” She was easy to ask questions to…it felt like she WANTED you to ask questions and not just because they probably have to ask that. She seemed ready to answer ANY possible questions we had or concerns.” He backs any good compliment I have about her.
We brung test results from our last doctor and she explained them in a way we could understand and how this result works with this…in comparison to that. She did NOT make us feel like we were bothering her.
Our appointment was for a well child visit/physical/health appraisal for the upcoming school year and retesting of blood to see if levels changed.
During the physical, I usually have to tell the boys that the doctor is gonna have to touch their private area and explain the whole process first, but SHE explained it first and in a way that they understood. She asked them if it was okay if she touched their private and told them it was only because she was the doctor and because their parents were there. She also asked us …the parents, if it was okay, so the boys could hear and be reassured that it was okay. After all that, then I explained again what the she was about to do.
The worst thing about the appointment is that we learned that in order to continue to be seen by Dr. Saba Javaid at Henry Ford’s New Center One, my kids have to have HAD at least 1 vaccine in their life or plan to get at least 1 vaccine.
Since we won’t be able to go back after having such a great experience with Dr. Saba Javaid, I was sure to let her know how great of a job she did before we left.
My kids even liked her and I asked them if she was nice and they said yes.
Thank you so much Dr. Saba Javaid for your amazing bedside manner and attentiveness to our children.
There weren’t any reviews or accounts set up for reviews for her, so I figured I’d just leave one on my blog.
