Crochet Faux Locs Tutorial – Bomba Soul – Goddess Locs

In this video, I show you how to install individual faux locs – crochet step by step. I know how confusing trying a new style can be, so my goal was to make this video as detailed as possible so that after watching my video, you actually get how to do the style and are ready to tackle it on your own.

The most important thing is deciding what hair you will use for your style. There’s no style without the hair.

Make sure you have a latch hook, which you can buy at your local beauty supply store for under $2.

 

Steps to Installing Your Individual Faux Locs – Crochet

• Wash, condition, and moisturize your hair. You can do a blow out or just stretch your hair by braiding it.

• Decide how you want to part your hair. Squares, diamonds, triangles, half moons, or free parting.

• Part your hair and start braiding. You can braid all the way down, or you can braid the base of your hair and twist the rest.

– Follow along with rest of steps in between pictures-

• Insert the open latch hook at the base of the braid

 

• Attach loop of crochet hair onto the the latch hook and close clasp

 

• Once the latch is closed on the latch hook, pull the loc through the base of your braid  with latch hook about 3 inches, unclasp, remove hair from hook

 

• Open the loop of the loc and pull your braid through. You can pull the braid through by itself, you can pull the other end of the loc through by itself, or you can pull both the loc and the braid through the loop.

 

• Tighten by pulling braid and crochet hair in opposite directions

 

• Unravel / Unwrap the loc and wrap it around your braid until your braid is fully encased in the loc.

 

 

• Finished

What hair did I use? Bobbi Boss Bomba Faux Locs Soul Goddess

How many locs come in each pack? 15 

How many packs did I use? Almost 3 1/2. 

How many braids / locs did I install? 51

Length of hair? 20 inches. The curl takes up 10 of those inches.

What color hair did I use? Number 4

Is the hair heavy? No, butI think the more you use it may add a little weight or at least a lot of bulkiness. 

Did I soak in apple cider vinegar? No

Can you reuse this hair? I wouldn’t

Can you twist instead of braid your hair? If you don’t want to braid all the way down, I would braid the base, at least one inch down, and then twist the rest.
