Maraval Made is a black owned business that sell face masks and and the creator and owner is Aquila Farrell. I met Aquila a while ago through Jenell B Sewart’s program. I reached out and introduced myself and we’ve been talking ever since. Aquila is so sweet and I love her laugh. She is a biochemist turned blogger and I’m so inspired by her.
Face masks are required in all businesses right now, so why not get a few fancy ones?! I think it’s smart to have multiple…if you gotta wear a mask, why not have one to match different outfits?
Being a business owner means naming all your products and I know I’d probably be drawing a blank, at first… She’s rolling them out, for a bunch of different collections. She has patterns and prints ranging from food and animals to plain and colorful. She makes different collections, all the time, and there are only so many you can purchase before that collection is gone.

The following face masks are from Aquila’s Birthday Collection, which consists of 3 face masks. Lavender Frosting, Tye Dye Cake, and Unicorn Sprinkles are the names of the masks in this collection.

Of course my boys had to join in.
Before I got my Maraval Made face masks, I was rocking a plain grey one, and yeah, it worked, but it was plain. I feel more fancy when I use Aquila’s.
Details, details, details
• Handmade in Oakland, California
• Breathable
• Washable and reusable
• Variety of styles
• Affordable
• Double lined – but no filter pocket.
• The masks come pleated (I think that’s the word) and after you wash them, they’ll just need a quick iron.
I know a lot of people are opposed to wearing the masks, but for now, it’s the new normal. I’m legit wondering how many people are still gonna be wearing their masks after corona is just a memory.
