I recently had my 2nd child and this time around, I didn’t take monthly pictures… I know, I know, but one upside is that we did opt for professional maternity pictures this time. It was nice to just have someone snappin’ away.
He’s 1 month, ALREADY!! Time really did fly by…cliché, but so true. His big brother loves him already and I think it’s the cutest thing. He’s so helpful, and sometimes a little TOO helpful that he ends up being a little rough. His brother is always giving him kisses, picking him up…with our help of course, helps with diaper changes, randomly pats him and even rubs his head. I can’t wait to see how their relationship blossoms.
He isn’t a cry baby, but when he’s hungry that cry is vicious! I always tell him to “stop yellin’ at mama,” or “don’t rush me, I’m comin’.”
Although all healthcare professionals do NOT recommend that baby’s sleep on their stomachs, he does and so did his brother. NO blankets though. I still refuse to give his brother a blanket and he’s almost 2. My mommy instincts kick into overdrive when he sleeps on his stomach. I pretty much hear everything.

TOP 3 NEWBORN ESSENTIALS
Baby Delight Snuggle Nest – aka a co-sleeper
We used it in our bed for the first 2 nights only because we hadn’t set up the pack n’ play yet, but this makes co-sleeping safer if that is what you choose to do; just make sure their head is by yours and you push the top of the co sleeper up until it hits the wall or your headboard.
This snuggle nest is also great when it comes to being able to get stuff done around the house. You don’t realize how early they start to scoot around when they are on their stomach, but they scoot, a lot! I use this on the couch, every single day, to keep him from scooting and falling off of the couch, plus it keeps that space barrier between my super hyper toddler. It’s bomb, honestly. Idk how long he’ll be able to use it, but for now, I’m gettin’ my moneys worth. Oh yeah, AND it’s portable!
Nose Frida – The SNOTSUCKER
JUST BUY IT…before you need it. It’s nothing worse than seeing your baby pretty much gasping for air because he or she is so congested. Phlegm is not something they can get out of their throats on their own so no matter how gross you think this GENIUS tool is, just do it. Their airways are super, super tiny and they depend on us for everything, so use some saline and get that snot out.
Changing Pads – Especially Waterproof
These waterproof changing pads are awesome and they don’t have that plastic material on the backside. I also use the Gerber cloth diapers since you go through a lot of changing pads, because no matter how neat you try to be during diaper changes, poop always ended up getting on the pads. The Gerber ones aren’t waterproof, but they come in handy and it’s a 10 pack, so you’re set. Brother never peed during diaper changes, and he is doin’ good in that department too, so all I had to worry about is poop getting on the cloths.
