Natural Hair Feature Pages aka Community Pages.
Well, this is gonna be a long post, but I hope you’ll read through it to really get my point.
First thing’s first! Follow me on Instagram @HeyChrishinda !
Let’s start with why I’m even making this list…
Feature or community pages can be extremely useful in helping you grow your following. I know it CAN BE hard to find some feature pages….or you’re just too lazy to research them yourself. I figured I’d make it easy for you; plus, I need this list for myself.
If you look at other people in your niche’s captions or first comment, you will find a ton of useful hashtags…hence, being too lazy to do your own research when it’s not really that hard…time consuming, definitely. I have revised and added to my list of hashtags multiple times, and it can take hours. The hashtags are usually the same as the feature pages name, so all you have to do is follow that page and use their hashtag.
Just go through the pages and see which ones you want to use and if it has been a while since they’ve posted…I’d skip over them of so.
What exactly is a feature or community page?
– It’s a page run by someone, obviously, to highlight a specific topic. In this case; we’re talking all about natural hair. These pages pick a nice name related to what they will be posting about and come up with their own hashtag (#) that we, the content creator or hobbyist, would use in our captions when we post pictures so that the feature page creator will be able to find your picture and repost it to their page; the feature page, when they search that specific hashtag. You’re giving permission when you use their hashtag.
How do you know what hashtag to use for that specific feature/community page?
-Look in their bio (that big section of words above all the pictures ). There should be a line that says something along the lines of “Use #_________ to be featured”
Here is an example…
What do the feature pages post?
-They post content creators or hobbyists photos or videos or memes that they like for other content creators or viewers to follow.
Why are hashtags important?
-They help to get your content seen by more people and there’s a chance you’ll be featured ( reposted ) on feature / community pages. People can now follow hashtags and they also search certain hashtags to find new hairstyles or people to follow. You want to mix up the hashtags in your captions with pages that have less than 100k hashtags and 1million+. The more hashtags used, the harder it is to get found because soooooo many people are using that same hashtag.
•I list whether or not a feature page pictues and video, pictures only, or videos only, so be mindful when posting your content with certain hashtags. If you know they only post pictures, don’t use that hashtag under your video; it will be a waste•
Why all feature pages aren’t made equal…
-Some don’t tag the person who is in the picture or video (not cool)
-Some pages only tag people SOMETIMES in their captions and then proceed to promote their feature page 2+ times in the caption)
“I think all the feature pages should work together… the goal of their page should be to bring more eyes to our ( content creators or hobbyists ) accounts.”
How feature pages should be run…
-Repost original creators captions + hashtags. (My favorite account for doing this is @MyNaturalHairisDope ) < She (Raven) gets it. We work hard to get our content seen by as many people as possible and when feature page creators only tag us and don’t use our hashtags (or any at all) , yes, that may get us a few follows, but if you use our hashtags, we will go back to the top of hashtag results, making it possible for our content to get shared even more.
-Tag ( @ ) the content creator both in the caption and on the picture.
-Tag the content creator, use their hashtags, AND THENNNNNNNNN promote your feature page – Yes the caption may be super long, but oh well….
-If the content creator doesn’t use any hashtags or use good hashtags, have a note in your phone set aside so that you can help bring more eyes to their content with relevant hashtags.
Feature or community pages I don’t like or support…
-There are so many feature pages that do not credit ( tag ) whose picture it is, but they will promote their own page ( feature page ) in the caption. These pages usually have SOOOOOO many followers and I don’t see why or how.
-Pages that say “Please tag” and then go on to promote their own page. I think this is EXTREMELY LAZY of the feature pages creator. When you repost peoples pictures, a lot of times there is a watermark (the person whose photo or video it is will use an app to add their social media name on the actual picture or video) and if you can’t take the time to tag ( @ ) the persons picture/video when their name is ON THE PICTURE/VIDEO, you shouldn’t have a page. The point of the page is to make it EASY for viewers to find and follow new people.
My thoughts on feature page creators making money…
-I think we all need to make money some way, some how, BUT if you only repost other people’s content on that feature / community page and don’t create your own content to mix in there with other people’s content, I don’t think you should be able to make money off of it. Yes, you grew your following to 10k, 100k, 500k or even 1 MILLION +, which is a HUGE feat, but if you are going to make money, I think you should be posting occasional pictures / videos of yourself promoting your own products or a brands. ( Raven @MyNaturalHairisDope does this very well – She posts pictures and videos of herself throughout her feature page. She also uses her Instagram stories DAILY and goes LIVE – she is humanizing her page.
Now onto the feature pages that you came here for…I just had to get all that out, lol.
•Just because you use a pages hashtag, it does not guarantee that they will share your content. I have tagged plenty of pictures or videos with feature page hashtags and have never been featured on their page•
•I will keep this list updated as I find new pages. Not all feature pages will make my list•
I will not be listing pages that:
-Only occasionally tag the content creator or hobbyist in the photos / videos, especially if they have a watermark-
-Pages that say “Please tag” in EVERY caption, especially if the picture or video has a watermark. That’s super lazy of you not to type it out.-
-Pages that only cater to one type of look/curl….we need variety!
-Pages that don’t post frequently…as long as I notice.
“How you runnin a feature page and only postin once a week?”
Pages I will be listing:
-Feature pages that tag the person in the picture or video
-Uses the hashtags in the original content creators’ captions
-Reposts content creators entire caption
-If the original content creators don’t use hashtags, the feature page creators use their own hashtags.
When choosing what hashtags to use, check out the page associated with it to make sure they post content like yours. There are a lot of feature pages who only post girls with looser curls and huge hair and not the kinkier textures. So if you have “4c” hair and that feature page only shares girls with “3c” curls, you’ve wasted a hashtag.
Generic hashtags
•You can use up to 30 hashtags TOTAL!•
These usually have A TON of results and your post can get buried very easily; so use with caution, BUT if one or two goes with the style in your picture or video then use it. For example: If you have cornrows in your picture, use #cornrows, but don’t use too many generic tags… use targeted tags so that you get reposted.

ALSO – Make sure you use the brands hashtags. For example, if you used Taliah Waajid products in your hair, you would use the hashtag #TaliahWaajid #TaliahWaajidBrand . If you look at their marketing content (not content creators content) on their page, usually they will use their branded hashtags.
There are some pages that may not use hashtags, but they have a nice following and they tag you, so there is a chance you will get a few followers, but you want to try to stick with the pages that use hashtags; generic or targeted (feature page hashtags).

If you did not make the list, you can leave a comment and let me know. Not every page will make the list.
I’m pretty sure I did not mention a ton, but these are just the ones I know of.

Wow. Thanks so much for this. I can only imagine how much time and research went into this. Bless you and your brand🤗
