Where does the time go?
His personality is developing more and more every day. He copies what he sees and hears. Some things he does I’m like, where’d he learn that? Of course he learned it from us, but there are things that we do that we don’t realize. For example, when I am really laughing hard at something, I throw my head back so I can get a good laugh; he started to do this.
A few things he knows how and likes to do:
Click his tongue
Puts the phone up to his ear and has a full conversation with himself. Derrick and I just try to figure out how he knows how to do this because 9 times out of 10, we use FaceTime or some form of video chatting for our phone calls.
When we are on FaceTime, a lot of times he’ll just take our phone and start walking around and talking to whoever we’re talking to; they mainly call for him anyway.
His first real word that he says consistently is Daisy. It’s not clear, but we know what he’s saying. The first thing he does when he wakes up and gets off the bed is grab one of Daisy’s toys and goes to find her.
Falls out on a regular basis when he doesn’t get his way, but we try to let him know that that’s not going to get him what he wants.
Sometimes he pouts when his dad comes to get him instead of me.
He’s had teeth for about 2 months and breastfeeding started to hurt again. Rrrrrrrrr.
The pickiest eater. Current diet is oatmeal, waffles, Cheetos puffs; he doesn’t really like the baby puffs snacks anymore.
Still not sleeping through the night and barely takes naps.
Loves baths, water period. He’s figured out how to turn the bath water on. He’ll stand in the tub and keep turning the water on and off; of course I make sure it wasn’t hot.
Absolutely LOVES basketball. As soon as we set up his new Little Tikes basketball rim from Christmas, we showed him how to shoot it one time, and after that he never stopped. He loves to hear the applause when he makes a shot and if he makes it and we don’t make any noise, he’ll look at us like, “Ummm, I made that. Are you gonna applause?”
The things he learned up until he became a 1 year old is so crazy to me; he’s so smart.
