What’s he doing?
As a 7 month old, he’s becoming so independent, already. His progress baffles me. I didn’t know he’d be doing so much, so soon.
He loves his Batman walker, like, really LOVES it. I run up behind him and he tries to get away from me. He thinks it’s so funny.
He entertains himself for the most part and I let him watch movies. I play them on the iPad sometimes, but he stays touching it and knocking it over…of course.
Getting around
He switches up his crawling from the kickstand crawl to a regular crawl. I wonder what makes him want to do one over the other, hmmmm.
He knows how to go up the stairs and does it so effortlessly. One day I looked up and he was up the first few steps. You know what that means; baby gate.
Pulling himself up is just so easy for him and he walks along the couch and also uses his toy basket to walk around until he hits a wall or something else that stops him from going any further.
He shifts his weight even better now. If he’s about to fall back, he’ll twist his body so that his hands break his fall.
He loves to be on high things, well, higher than the floor; the couch, the bed, the counter…supervised of course. As soon as I sit him down on either of those, he immediately gets so excited and just starts crawling around so fast, trying to get away from me, pulling himself up and climbing up the back of the couch.
Eating
He is still breastfed and even though he eats some solids, he just can’t get enough of the milk.
Before I had him, and up until this point, I just knew I was going to make all of his food and have enough to last for a good amount of time, but that was short lived. I find store bought baby food more convenient, and it tastes the same, but just bland. If you were to make it yourself, you could add seasoning while cooking, not that you can’t add it to the baby food, but you get the gist, right?
Two of his favorite foods are carrots and butternut squash, but will pretty much eat what I give him. He opens his mouth wide when I put the spoon in front of him, which is a good thing because he likes what I’m giving him. He wants to feed himself and likes to chew on the spoon. He’s always trying to take the bib off and cannot keep his fingers and toes out of his mouth while eating. He’s a mess, lol. I try to keep him nice and clean during meal time, but nope, not possible.
He’s got the pincer grasp down pact and loves eating Club crackers and Gerber Puffs.
After he eats, I take him to the sink to clean his gums with a small washcloth and he already knows to open his mouth when I turn the water on. I think it’s the cutest thing.
Sleeping
He still wakes up multiple times throughout the night. No bottles, just me.
I love that he talks himself to sleep and when he wakes up. He’ll talk to himself until he takes his morning poo and then he gets fussy and wants me to come get him out of his bed.
Bathtime
Now that his poop is changing, he gets washed up a lot more, or at least his bottom area. It usually looks like whatever he ate. If he ate carrots, it’d be carrot mush, yuck, I know.
I hope you enjoyed this month’s update.
